Notable names Foundation, Midterm and Ultra are among the 136 horses to go forward for the Investec Derby at Epsom Downs in June later this year.

The British Classic, won last year by QIPCO British Champions Series icon Golden Horn, features 50 Irish-trained contenders with five-time-winning trainer Aidan O’Brien responsible for 36 of them.

Roger Varian has the most entries from a British handler with 11, while last year’s winner John Gosden boasts 10 possible challengers to the prestigious title.

Andre Fabre – winner in 2011 with Pour Moi – holds a sole entry for Epsom in Group 1 winner, Ultra.
