John Gosden enjoyed a fantastic Flat season in 2012, winning a whole host of top races and topping off the season by being crowned Champion Trainer for the first time, and BCS TV recently visited his yard to discuss some of his leading Champions Series contenders for this year.
Like every other trainer in Newmarket, the current Champion has experienced a frustrating spring and he explains how difficult it has been readying his string for the start of the turf season. He also goes into more detail to outline the potential plans for some of his leading hopefuls for 2013, including QIPCO 2000 Guineas hopeful, Ghurair, for whom he believes "more of a test of stamina will play into his hands." Gosden also looks ahead to last year’s Oaks third, The Fugue, and suggests that the Andrew Lloyd-Webber-owned filly could possibly head to straight to Royal Ascot.
