Mother Earth heads quality line-up of 13 for Coronation Cup

Aidan O’Brien’s QIPCO 1000 Guineas winner Mother Earth topped an exciting field of 13 for Friday’s Coronation Stakes.

The feature on Day Four of Royal Ascot will also see top fillies such as Alcohol Free who came fifth in the QIPCO 1000 Guineas, bet354 Fillies’ Mile winner Pretty Gorgeous, as well as Irish 1000 Guineas champion Empress Josephine.

Frankie Dettori did the steering in the QIPCO 1000 Guineas aboard Mother Earth. However, Ballydoyle No.1 Ryan Moore will take over the reigns on Friday.

Alcohol Free will look for an improved performance at Ascot after her 5th at Newmarket. With jockey Oisin Murphy saying after the race, “She isn’t good enough today, Frankie is away and gone on the other side. She’s run on and hit the line. Very pleased with her efforts. We tried our bets, the race went the way I planned beforehand.”

“I had every chance and hopefully we go to Royal Ascot and we can make amends.”
