2013 looks set to be a big year for jockey Jamie Spencer with him taking up the reins as the newly retained rider for the expanding Qatar Racing operation and BCS TV has been to visit him at his home to hear his thoughts before the Series kicks off.
Aly Rowell went to the home of the former champion jockey to discuss a number of topics starting with how much he is looking forward to this year’s Series and his new position. Spencer goes on to discuss how he relaxes away from the racetrack, his cooking skills, as well as giving some interesting insight as to why he won’t be chasing the jockeys’ championship this year. The 32-year-old sounds particularly optimistic for the season ahead, though, summarising his prospects for 2013 as, “I think I’ve got a good opportunity with this job….if ever I’m going to win any of those big races around the world, this is my time."
