Some of Newmarket’s key assistant trainers gathered at the Yard last week, the pub where it all happens in Newmarket, to discuss the QIPCO 2000 Guineas.

Present were Mick Channon’s son, Jack, who is assistant to Clive Brittain; Luca Cumani’s son, Matt, who is assistant to his dad; George Margarson’s daughter, Katie, who is assistant to her dad; James Eustace’s son, David, who is assistant to Roger Varian; and Charlie Fellowes, who is assistant to James Fanshawe.

Jackie Jarvis asks the questions and we hear what they reckon will win the colts’ Classic on Saturday and where the value might lie with an outsider.
