QIPCO British Champions Day runner-up Intrigo features among the many entries for this Thursday’s second meeting of the Dubai World Cup Carnival.
The four-year-old, who finished behind Breton Rock in the QIPCO Future Stars Apprentice Handicap, was purchased by Godolphin last week and is set to make his first appearance for new trainer Charlie Appleby in Meydan.
Saeed bin Suroor’s 2011 Royal Ascot winner, Tha’ir, is also in line to make his seasonal bow at the Carnival, having been given two entries on the card.
The Chesham Stakes champion has won once since that Royal meeting, but will be running for the first time outside of Europe in the new surroundings of Dubai.
Bin Suroor also has Pisco Sour, a runner in the 2011 Investec Epsom Derby for former trainer Hughie Morrison, lined up to run in the maroon and white silks of Sheikh Mohammed.
Godolphin’s highly-regarded three-year-olds Wedding Ring, Emirates Flyer and Figure of Speech are also likely to feature.
