Leading Series jockey Frankie Dettori is set to return to competitive action ‘within the next 10 days’, according to connections.
Dettori, who has been sidelined since October 2 when he suffered a fractured ankle in a fall going down to the start before a race at Nottingham, is set to ride the highly-impressive Royal Ascot-bound Treve this season.
The injury at the East Midlands-based track caused the Italian rider to miss the winning ride on board Criquette Head-Maarek’s four-year-old filly in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe last year.
Treve is owned by leading QIPCO British Champions Series star Sheikh Joaan Al Thani, for whom Dettori is retained rider.
Dettori is poised to make his comeback on the all-weather winter circuit as he gears up towards the 2014 Flat campaign.
Take a look at the 42-year-old’s jockey profile here.
