QIPCO 2000 Guineas hero Night of Thunder will race in the colours of Godolphin royal blue in the 2015 Series after being bought by Sheikh Mohammed’s racing operation.
The four-year-old, who defeated Series stars Kingman and Australia last summer in the British Classic at Newmarket, will remain in training with Champion Trainer Richard Hannon.
Formerly owned by Saeed Manana, Night of Thunder was last seen on QIPCO British Champions Day finishing second to Charm Spririt in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes.
The son of Dubawi is likely to tackle the Series’s mile division this year for his new owners, with the Al Shaqab Lockinge Stakes at Newbury a likely starting place for the exciting colt.
Trips to Royal Ascot for the Queen Anne Stakes, the QIPCO Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood and the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes on QIPCO British Champions Day could also beckon for the Classic-winning star.
