Cirrus des Aigles and Flintshire, first and second in last year’s Investec Coronation Cup, feature among the 13 horses going forward for this year’s renewal at Epsom Downs on Saturday 6 June.
The pair are joined by compatriot Dolniya, who was last seen comfortably winning the Dubai Sheema Classic for trainer Alain de Royer-Dupre on Dubai World Cup night.
Aidan O’Brien is the most successful trainer in the Investec Coronation Cup and Ireland’s champion trainer could bid for an eighth success with Tapestry, winner of last season’s Darley Yorkshire Oaks. She is joined by Dermot Weld’s QIPCO Champion Stakes third Free Eagle as Ireland’s strongest chances.
Sir Michael Stoute’s Arab Spring, the Richard Hannon-trained Pether’s Moon and John Gosden’s Romsdal also remain engaged for the contest.
Full list of Investec Coronation Cup entries (13): Arab Spring, Ayrad, Cirrus des Aigles, Flintshire, Free Eagle, Pether’s Moon, Red Cadeaux, Romsdal, Sheikhzayedroad, Dolniya, Just The Judge, Secret Gesture and Tapestry.
