Australian speedster Brazen Beau will bid to follow in the winning hoof prints of compatriot and Series sprinter Black Caviar in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot, after heading the 19 contenders for Friday’s contest.
The Chris Waller-trained sprinter – winner of the competitive Group 1 Lexus Newmarket Handicap at Flemington, Australia, in March – could also become the first three-year-old to win the six-furlong contest since Michael Bells’ Art Connoisseur in 2009.
However, Brazen Beau’s task of success will be tested with numerous talented sprinters entered for the Royal meeting final day feature race.
Of those competitors, Dermot Weld’s Mustajeeb, Betfred Sprint Cup king G Force and QIPCO British Champions Day star Gordon Lord Byron are among the leading Diamond Jubilee Stakes contenders.
Sole Power, who is bidding for a hat-trick of King’s Stand Stakes victories on Tuesday, has also been entered for the contest, despite never winning over six furlongs in his career.
