QIPCO British Champions Day star Cirrus des Aigles is reportedly ‘better than ever’ ahead of a bid to regain his QIPCO Champion Stakes title at Ascot on Saturday 17 October.
The nine-year-old, who burst onto the scene when winning the 2011 QIPCO Champion Stakes, will run in the race for the fifth time following a preparation run in the Prix Dollar this weekend.
Cirrus des Aigles’ trainer, Corine Barande-Barbe, believes that he is in the form of his life and, providing he comes out of his race well in France, all roads will lead to Champions Day.
She told At The Races: "He’s shown he needed the race (in the QIPCO Irish Champion Stakes) and he’s in cracking form.
"It’s the plan (to run on Champions Day). The result and how he is after the races always decides what he is going to do next, so he’ll decide (after the Prix Dollar)."
