John Gosden is synonymous with training home-grown superstars, such as The Fugue, Kingman and most recently Golden Horn.
But, an acquisition from abroad in the heart of Argentina – the capital Buenos Aires – could potentially give the prestigious Newmarket-based Clarehaven Stables a South American flavour this season.
The eight-time British Classic-winning trainer, during the off-season, purchased the three-time Group 1 heroine, Furia Cruzada.

The Gran Premio Gilberto Leren in the Argentinian capital is a leading contest for middle distance horses on the turf.

Watching her stride clear to another triumph in the Gran Premio Criadores confirmed the sale for the Series star.
A shorter triumph than previously seen at the track, her tenacious qualities will come in handy for the fiercely-competitive contests in Britain this season.
So what next?
Furia Cruzada has been entered to run in the Winter Derby at Lingfield Park in the coming months, with a campaign being divised that could potentially see her entered in the best middle distance contests in the year.
A tilt at the QIPCO British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes on Champions Day could be in the offing. Whatever happens, she is certainly a mare to keep an eye on this campaign.
