A plethora of QIPCO British Champions Series stars are set to return to the track at Meydan tomorrow, including middle distance champion Postponed and fans’ favourite Sole Power.
Postponed reappears over a mile and a half in the Dubai City Of Gold.
The five-year-old, winner of the QIPCO-sponsored King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes last summer, faces seven rivals in the group two contest. Among them is the David Simcock-trained Balios, who won the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Postponed will be having his first start for Roger Varian, having been switched from the yard of Luca Cumani since he last ran in September.
Evergreen sprinter Sole Power features among a final field of 11 for the five-furlong Meydan Sprint. The nine-year-old, who has won four Series races during his distinguished career and earned his connections more than £2 million in prize money, will be ridden by Ryan Moore.
The opposition includes Goldream and Medicean Man, who dominated the finish of last season’s King’s Stand Stakes – the first race in the Sprint category of the Series. Goldream won by a short head and went on to land the Qatar Prix de l’Abbaye at Longchamp.
