Notable Speech is back to his best with a decisive victory in the Qatar Sussex Stakes for Charlie Appleby and Godolphin.
He is in elite company of horses to have achieved the 2000 Guineas x Sussex Stakes double, with the legendary Frankel the most recent horse to do so, in 2011.

Jockey William Buick showed that patience is a virtue and as the duo waited for the cutaway, they scorched past the favourite to win the £1 Million feature in style, putting his Ascot wrongs, right.
Favourite, Henry Longfellow lead the field alongside a keen Sonny Liston. Buick eased into the race and the Classic winner was always cantering. It was a matter of timing and as the daylight came, Buick pressed go and the race was soon over.
He was firing on all cylinders coming in here today.
It’s a first Sussex Stakes for jockey and trainer, and a fourth for Godolphin.
Buick told ITV Racing: “He was firing on all cylinders coming in here today. He’s a brilliant Guineas winner, with a very rare turn of foot. He showed that again today and I’m delighted.
“Full credit to Charlie and the whole team, they’ve done such a good job with him to get him back after a disappointing run in the St James’s Palace where he was obviously too bad to be true.”
“When you have a horse like this, with the kick he has, it makes your job a lot easier and obviously the cutaway does make it easier as well. Luckily he didn’t need any encouragement from the whip because I threw that away a furlong and a half out.”
