Rivalries reignite as Kinross and Art Power feature amongst classy field of 50 for QIPCO British Champions Sprint Stakes

2023 QIPCO Champions Sprint Stakes winner and runner-up Art Power and Kinross look set to renew their rivalry as both featured amongst a high-class field of 50 at the first entry stage for this years race. Yorkshire-based handler Tim Easterby will hope his popular grey can provide him with back to back victories in the £500,000 contest whilst Ralph Beckett, trainer of Kinross, will hope his charge can turn the tables on his old rival and repeat his 2022 victory at the Berkshire track.

Three previous winners of QIPCO British Champions Series races earlier this season have received entries for the QIPCO Champions Sprint Stakes. The enigmatic Al Shaqab Lockinge Winner Audience is an interesting entry for trainers John and Thady Gosden, with the son of Iffraaj potentially dropping back to six furlongs for the first time since July of 2022.

Also entered, Inisherin gave jockey Tom Eaves a dream day at Royal Ascot in June when running out a ready winner in the Commonwealth Cup for Kevin Ryan. The trio of 2024 QIPCO British Champions Series victors is rounded off by Mill Stream. Imperious in the July Cup over six furlongs earlier this term, Jane Chapple-Hyam has given her flagbearer a provisional entry, no doubt hoping to improve upon his 8th place finish in the race last term.

Entries from Ireland include Group 1 winning two-year-old Bucanero Fuerte for Adrian Murray, Givemethebeatboys for Jessica Harrington, Moss Tucker for Kevin Condon, Aesop’s Fables for Aidan O’Brien and Yosemite Valley for Donnacha O’Brien.

France may also be represented in the race for the first time since 2016 as trainer Yann Barberot has entered his consistent sprinter, Beauvatier.
