Celebrating Horse Racing’s Heroes
Early entry stages for the Al Shaqab Lockinge on May 15 attracted 31 top-class entrants for the Group 1 prize over a mile. A host of past Champions Series stars stood their ground including John Gosden’s Palace Pier, globetrotter Lord Glitters and 2020 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes (sponsored by QIPCO) hero The Revenant.
The Revenant runs this Saturday in France, but could target May’s £350,000 prize at Newbury this summer. All being well he will return to these shores to compete for another Group 1.

The Revenant is owned by Al Asayl Bloodstock, whose racing manager Harry Peter-Hoblyn, said: “It’s important for us to take one race at a time with The Revenant who runs this Saturday at Saint-Cloud in the Group 3 Prix Edmond Blanc, which he won in 2019.
“But if all goes well, we would love to bring him over to Newbury for the Lockinge in May. It was the target last year before sadly it was lost to COVID and looking at the race, it’s a perfect fit on paper.”
