12 line-up for 2021 QIPCO 1000 Guineas

A field of 12 are set to line up on Sunday for the 2021 QIPCO 1000 Guineas on Newmarket’s Rowley Mile course.

Trainer Aidan O’Brien will be looking for his seventh win in the race this weekend, with four of the last five renewals going his way. His best hope appears to be Santa Barbara, subject of solid market support in the build up.

One noticeable absentee at the declaration stage was bet365 Fillies’ Mile heroine, Pretty Gorgeous with Joseph O’Brien reporting she scoped badly.

The last Classic to be run was the 2020 St Leger which was won by Galileo Chrome and delivered Tom Marquand his first Classic success. He partners up with Sacred for William Haggas on Sunday, who was a very cosy winner of the Nell Gywn on the Rowley Mile just 16 days ago.

Champion Jockey Oisin Murphy will partner Alcohol Free, he will hoping she can repeat her course success from the Craven meeting having won last time out.
