Young Fans Inspired at QIPCO British Champions Day

QIPCO British Champions Day 2022 brought the drama in terms of sporting action, yet it wasn’t just the action on the track which excited racegoers. The Ultimate race day attracts young fans to learn what it is like to be centre stage in the saddle.

In this year’s Fan Zone, three masterclasses were showcased throughout the day, led by Hollie Doyle, Tom Marquand, Oisin Murphy and The British Racing Schools’ Richard Perham. Each masterclass demonstrated the jockey’s journey throughout the race from start to riding a finish.

After the first masterclass, there was also an opportunity to meet classic winning jockey David Egan in the jockey hub for signings and pictures.

Young Fans at the Pony Club were inspired by the jockeys that they are considering taking their ponies racing for the next pony racing season.

Also in the Fan Zone, children aged 5 – 18yrs had the chance to win a tour for them and two guests to Tweenhills Stud. They’ll have the chance to meet British Champions Series great Kameko who beat the record to win the QIPCO 2000 Guineas in the fastest time. Alongside, understanding about life for the stars before and after the track.

Not only were there prizes and giveaways for fans to enjoy, but racegoers could also take part in a VR experience.
