Celebrating Horse Racing’s Heroes
William Buick notched a four-timer in sensational style with a Group 1 win on Mill Stream for Jane Chapple-Hyam. The favourite Inisherin finished fifth as Mill Stream and 22/1 outsider Swingalong battled it out in the final two furlongs, with Mill Stream scoring by three-quarters of a length. Vandeek finished strongly on the line for third place, ahead of Art Power.
“He’s been such a good horse for me this year” said Buick, “he’s so genuine, he really wants it”. Trainer Jane Chapple-Hyam celebrated a double on the day, following Asian Daze’s success in the fillies’ handicap.
The conditions were in Mill Stream’s favour, as Buick reported that “Jane and the team convinced me he was a better horse today and he duly was. That bit of rain we had really suited him”.
It’s a day to remember for Jane Chapple-Hyam, “It was hard at Ascot to take the third but to come out and win at our local track is good, I’m thrilled”.
