Highly-rated 2014 QIPCO 1,000 Guineas contender Ihtimal has been declared for the Shadwell Fillies’ Mile at Newmarket.
The two-year-old, who is currently a 14/1 chance for the British Classic next May, has been impressive in her two starts in Group company.
After comfortably winning the Group 3 German-Thoroughbred Sweet Solera Stakes on Newmarket’s July Course in August, Ihtimal then followed up that victory with further triumph in the Group 2 May Hill Stakes at Doncaster earlier this month.
Godolphin will be bidding for a record fourth victory in tomorrow’s contest at Newmarket’s Rowley Mile course, after White Moonstone, Lyric of Light and Certify provided Sheikh Mohammed’s racing operation with success in the previous three renewals.
Bin Suroor said today: "She is a Group 2 winner last time and this Group 1 is a step up but we think she is up to it.
"She is sound and healthy after her win at Doncaster and we’re expecting a good run from her.”
Sound Reflection also represents Godolphin in the race.
The Nayef Joel Stakes takes place earlier in the afternoon, where Soft Falling Rain will be bidding to get back to winning ways, before possibly embarking on a tilt against Dawn Approach and Toronado in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes on 19 October at British Champions Day.
