Newmarket Racecourses has today announced that it will be hosting a special QIPCO Guineas Festival Preview Lunch on Tuesday 30 April at the Rowley Mile racecourse, looking ahead to the opening races in the 2013 QIPCO British Champions Series.

Members of the public can buy tickets for the event which will include several high profile racing personalities to be announced in due course.

Staged in association with the Newmarket July Festival Committee – an organisation that exists to promote Newmarket’s economy and invest in its community – the lunch will be sure to further heighten ‘Guineas Fever’ with the year’s two opening Classics to be held the following weekend.

With the QIPCO 2000 and 1000 Guineas in mind, the highlight of the lunch – which will take place from 12.30pm in the Millennium Suite – will be a question and answer session with a panel of key connections from the world of racing, hosted by Channel 4’s Nick Luck.

Luck will be asking the panellists about the main contenders for the QIPCO 2000 and 1000 Guineas, which form the opening races of the QIPCO British Champion Series.

There will also be an opportunity for attending guests to put their questions to a panel that will include David Redvers, the racing manager and bloodstock advisor to Sheikh Fahad Al Thani of QIPCO Holding, and an auction, which will include several exclusive ‘lots’ to help raise funds for the Newmarket July Festival Committee.

Mark Edmondson, chairman for the Newmarket July Festival Committee, said: “This is a very exciting new edition to the QIPCO Guineas Festival build-up and an important part of our fundraising programme as the July Festival Committee aims to support many good causes and charities in the Newmarket area."

Amy Starkey, regional director, East, for the Jockey Club, said: “The QIPCO Guineas Festival is world renowned within the sport of horseracing and hugely important for Newmarket Racecourses.

"The QIPCO Guineas Festival Preview Lunch will help create enhanced interest in this exceptional two-day meeting and we very much look forward to working with QIPCO and the Newmarket July Festival Committee to make this event a major success, so that it becomes a regular fixture in the build-up to the opening two Classics of the 2013 Flat season.”

Tickets for this prestigious event cost £75.00 per head for tables of 10 or 12 guests.
