One year on from Miss France’s triumph in the QIPCO 1000 Guineas, 26-time French Champion Trainer Andre Fabre bids for a repeat result with High Celebrity in the British Classic at Newmarket on Sunday 3 May.

The three-year-old, who finished third behind Tiggy Wiggy in the Group 1 Connolly’s Red Mills Cheveley Park Stakes, is among the 63 contenders for the prestigious Rowley Mile contest.

Fabre said: “High Celebrity has done well over the winter and I am happy with her, she was already well developed as a two-year-old but she has put on weight. She had a rest at a stud farm and has been back with me for a month and a half.

“We are aiming her at Newmarket and the plan is to run her at Maisons-Laffitte in the Prix Imprudence [on Thursday, 2nd April], the same prep race that we used for Miss France. It fits in nicely to her training programme as it is a full month before the Guineas.

“In terms of general ability she is very much on the same level as Miss France, but High Celebrity would have a little more strength.”

Lowther Stakes champion Tiggy Wiggy, Queen Mary Stakes heroine Anthem Alexander, Newmarket winner Lucida and Aidan O’Brien’s stars Found and Together Forever feature among a star-studded entry list.
