Royal Ascot winner The Wow Signal is to have a preparation run in the Greenham Stakes at Newbury before tackling the QIPCO 2000 Guineas at Newmarket on Saturday 2 May.

The John Quinn-trained three-year-old, who was an impressive winner of the Coventry Stakes at the Royal meeting, also won the Group 1 Prix Morny at Deauville last season, beating the highly-rated Wesley Ward-trained Hootenanny.

The Wow Signal, available at 25/1 for the QIPCO 2000 Guineas, will take the same route as Series star Frankel by running in the Greenham Stakes en route to potential British Classic glory.

His handler told the Press Association: “He’s very well and I’m pleased with him, he’s strengthened up just like you’d expect.

“We’re going to run him in the Greenham before the Guineas.

"We might even take him to Wetherby next Friday for a gallop to help bring him on."
