Trainer Ralph Beckett has admitted that Ladbrokes St Leger winner Simple Verse is more than likely set to line up in the QIPCO British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes on QIPCO British Champions Day at Ascot.
The three-year-old filly, who won the British Classic at Doncaster earlier this month after a successful appeal, also holds an entry in the QIPCO British Champions Long Distance Cup.
However, the draw of another Group 1 victory and the fact that Pallasator, also owned by Qatar Racing Limited, is set for the opening race on Saturday 17 October means that the one-and-a-half-mile race will be her likely destination.
Beckett said: “At the moment Simple Verse is a probable runner in the QIPCO British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes, although we will know more in a week or so’s time.
“She has come out of the St Leger very well and I am very happy with her.”
