Roger Teal may send Horris Hill winner  Kenzai Warrior straight to next year’s QIPCO 2000 Guineas.

The son of Karakontie thrust himself into the picture for the Newmarket Classic, the first race in next year’s QIPCO British Champions Series, when he maintained his unbeaten record with victory in the Group Three – rescheduled at HQ this month.

Teal, who sent out Tip Two Win to finish second in the QIPCO 2000 Guineas last year, has not ruled out giving his new stable star a prep race beforehand –  but he favours going there with his unbeaten status still intact.

Teal said: “Kenzai Warrior has come out of the Horris Hill like a bull. We have put the lid on him now and will go for the Guineas next year.

“I’ve done my research, and not many 2000 Guineas winners since Frankel have had a prep race beforehand.

“They are quite close to the race and they can ‘bounce’, so I think we will be better going straight to the race.

“If he is kicking the stable down we might have to run him beforehand, but only time will tell. He has still not finished growing, so it is all very exciting.”
