Fantasy game entries hit 5000 mark

Entries have already hit the 5,000 mark for the brand new, free-to-enter QIPCO British Champions Series Fantasy Game, launched last week in association with the Daily Telegraph and Racing Post.

You don’t need to be an oil-rich Sheikh or a member of the aristocracy to have the best Fantasy racing stable in the country, but you do need a bit of luck and some of Frankie Dettori’s judgement, as you’ll be competing against him!

If you think you’ve got what it takes to separate the winners from the losers, then now’s the time to pick the best horsepower, the finest trainers and the best jockeys for your stable in a new free-to-enter competition.

The object of the game is pretty simple: find the likely winners in 35 of Britain’s finest Flat races, show a clean pair of heels to the competition and hopefully gallop off with a VIP day at the races for four and your very own set of racing silks, signed by none-other than Frankie.

Like a leading owner, you’ll need to choose your five favourite trainers, pick a handful of jockeys to ride for you, and select a couple of horses in each QIPCO British Champions Series race. For each race that your team is successful in, you’ll accumulate points, with the ultimate aim of topping the Fantasy Racing leaderboard!

The QIPCO British Champions Series Telegraph Fantasy Game lasts all season long, but don’t delay – it starts when the stalls open for the first race of the series, the QIPCO 2000 Guineas at Newmarket on Saturday 5 May.

All you have to do to get started is to pick your teams, choose your stable name and create the racing silks that will set you apart from the competition.

You can even create your own Super League in the game, taking on your friends and colleagues for a bit of friendly rivalry!

If you do better than the rest, then you’ll be in line for our VIP prize of a day out for four at a 2013 QIPCO British Champions Series raceday of your choice, plus a framed set of your chosen racing colours signed by Frankie Dettori, who will be playing the game himself along with many other top jockeys, trainers and racing personalities.

There are also prizes for the individual high scorers of each of the five categories within the Series: Sprint, Mile, Middle Distance, Long Distance and Fillies & Mares – as well as spot prizes for star performances throughout the season.

“We see this new game as a great way to heighten interest in the very best of British Flat racing, which is precisely why the QIPCO British Champions Series itself was launched last year,” said British Champions Series Chief Executive, Rod Street.

“We are lucky enough to have the best horses in the world competing in this country and now there’s an exciting, free-to-enter competition which we hope will generate increased excitement for racing fans as well as enticing general sports enthusiasts to get involved.”
