Connections of Mukhadram have confirmed that the four-year-old is now being targeted at the QIPCO Champion Stakes on British Champions Day on Saturay 19th October after he was ruled out of a trip to York.
The William Haggas-trained colt got back to winning ways when taking the Group 2 York Stakes last month by three-quarters of a length and he was expected to line up back at the Yorkshire venue in the Juddmonte International Stakes.
However, Mukhadram will now instead head straight to Ascot for the QIPCO Champion Stakes, avoiding another match-up with Champions Series superstar Al Kazeem.
His trainer said: "He won’t run at York. He was sore after his run in the Group Two and he has had a few hard races now.”
"We’ll make a plan culminating in the Champion Stakes with probably a run before then."
If you want to secure your tickets to QIPCO British Champions Day to see the likes of Mukhadram in action, then head over to the Ascot Racecourse ticket kiosk.
