Top Champions Series trainers in Newmarket will be opening their yard gates to the public this Sunday at the Betfair Newmarket Open Day.

The Suffolk-based event will see the likes of Ed Dunlop and Luca Cumani invite people in for a behind-the-scenes look at racing’s equine heroes, including globetrotter Red Cadeaux, Doncaster Cup hero Times Up and Ormonde Stakes champion Mount Athos.

Horses will canter on Warren Hill between 9 and 10am giving members of the public the chance to see the star horses in training, while their trainers give commentaries about each of them whilst working.

Other equine facilities open throughout the day include the Newmarket Equine Hospital, the National Horseracing Museum, the British Racing School and the National Stud.

The charity event will also see the home of the QIPCO 2,000 and 1,000 Guineas, The Rowley Mile Racecourse, host a range of exciting family fun activities, such as the Weatherbys Shetland Pony Grand National, a trainers versus jockeys five-a-side football match and Great British Racing’s Kids love the Races roadshow.
