QIPCO 2000 Guineas runner-up Territories has been targeted with a rematch against Classic champion Gleneagles in the St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot.

The three-year-old, who is trained in France by top QIPCO British Champions Series handler Andre Fabre, will head to the Royal meeting after finishing two and a quarter lengths behind the Ballydoyle superstar at Newmarket earlier this month.

However, his trainer believes that Territories has come out of the British Classic in good spirits and that all roads now lead to the St James’s Palace Stakes.

"He’s come out of the race fine, I’m perfectly happy with him," he said to The Press Association.

"It was a good run, he was just beaten by a better horse on the day. It looks like it will be Ascot next."
