Foal Watch: January 2016

It’s that time of year again when the future stars of the QIPCO British Champions Series are born.

To save you from the January blues, we thought we’d put together a gallery of the best-bred foals from the icons of yesteryear.

Warning: the below content is really quite cute.

Slade Power’s first foal

Slade Power endeared himself to the QIPCO British Champions Series in 2013 and 2014 with his brilliant versatility and searing speed.

Below is his first foal to be born, a filly out of Sho Girl.

A foal Sir Henry Cecil would have loved to train

This young nipper is a colt by QIPCO British Champions Series legend Frankel, with his mum, Chigun.

Both of his parents were trained by the much-missed master. He looks a little beauty.

Destined for Champions Day glory like Dad

Winner of the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes in 2013, Olympic Glory is now based at stud looking to sire the new champions of tomorrow.

Could his first ever foal be one of them? He certainly isn’t camera shy!

A princess in the making?

This is the first filly out of Group 3 winner Princess Noor, by Derby champion New Approach.

She looks pretty headstrong here. Maybe she knows she is going to be a Series princess…
