Katarina Johnson-Thompson meets Galileo Gold and Hugo Palmer

Katarina visited the Hugo Palmer-trained horse as part of her role as a QIPCO British Champions Series ambassador and to find out the synergies between her preparation for the World Athletics Championship in London this summer, and the training regime of Galileo Gold, one of the returning stars of the prestigious 35 race Series.

She said, “It was really interesting talking to Galileo Gold’s trainer, Hugo Palmer on how the build of the horse dictates the distances that they compete over, just as it does in athletics.”

Galileo Gold is set to run in the Al Shaqab Lockinge at Newbury racecourse, one of the Mile category races of the QIPCO British Champions Series at 3.30pm on Saturday 20^th May.
