John Gosden gave the strongest hint yet at Newmarket on Tuesday that Enable will make her eagerly awaited reappearance in the Investec Coronation Cup.

The outstanding filly would be seeking her fourth win in the QIPCO British Champions Series if she lines up in the Epsom showpiece on June 1.

Last year her five victories at the highest level included victories in the Investec Oaks, QIPCO-sponsored King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes plus Darley Yorkshire Oaks.

Gosden said at Headquarters that Enable was in great form and confirmed she is set to reappear in either the Tattersalls Gold Cup, at the Curragh, or the Investec Coronation Cup.

However, he said the latter race was “more likely”.

The Newmarket trainer also suggested a first clash between Enable and her stablemate, Cracksman, was on the cards in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes in July.

“Logical places they could meet are the King George, which is our biggest all-aged race, and the Arc, the biggest in Europe,” he said. “But let’s see how it all unfolds. Doing what is right by the horse is the golden rule.”
