QIPCO British Champions Series set to launch on Saturday

Ultimate Champion British Champions Series

The eighth running of the QIPCO British Champions Series launches this weekend with the first Classic of the season, the QIPCO 2000 Guineas at Newmarket Rowley Mile Racecourse. The Series comprises 35 of the most prestigious races in the British Flat racing calendar, with four QIPCO British Champions Series contests being named among the top ten run anywhere around the world last year.

This year there is £20 million of prize money across the 26 racedays that make up the Series, with a host of returning stars to look forward to including Europe’s top rated horse Cracksman; his stablemate Enable and stars such as Harry Angel, as well as the best of this year’s three-year old crop.

This year’s Series once again begins at Newmarket’s Rowley Mile racecourse with the £500,000 QIPCO 2,000 Guineas in which Champion Trainer Aidan O’Brien will be looking to extend his record-breaking tally in the race, having already won eight renewals.

The race will be shown live on ITV at 3.35pm on Saturday 5th May.
