Star cast of 15 declared for QIPCO 2000 Guineas

Pinatubo

The lineup of 15 contenders was confirmed at the three-day stage, with Frankie Dettori revealing that he will partner the Coolmore-trained, Wichita in the QIPCO 2000 Guineas.

The Italian will be aboard the Aidan O’Brien colt who was last seen finishing third to the highest-rated two-year-old from recent times, Pinatubo.

Pinatubo is the star name in the field, with the unbeaten Charlie Appleby-trained superstar having “physically…done great” over the summer.

Kameko will represent our Ambassador, Oisin Murphy with all parties excited about his prospects of scooping the first Classic of the season on the Rowley Mile. Murphy said recently that “Our horse has done very well from two to three and we can’t wait to get him going”.

The race will take place at 3.35pm Saturday 6th June.
