Danedream’s last-gasp defeat of Nathaniel in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes sponsored by Betfair has earned the star German filly, who won the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe last October, the accolade of Performance of the Month in the latest QIPCO British Champions Series public vote.

In becoming the first filly to complete the Arc-King George double, she garnered 53% of the vote, with Frankel’s QIPCO Sussex Stakes victory in second with 27% and Nathaniel’s Coral-Eclipse win in third with 20%.

The shortlist of three performances was selected by five expert panellists, Michael Owen, Lee Mottershead, Alex Hammond, Cornelius Lysaght and Nick Luck.

All voters automatically enter a free prize draw to win a pair of tickets to a future QIPCO British Champions Series raceday. This month’s winner is Mrs Sylvia Lockrose.

The races in the next vote start with tomorrow’s Juddmonte International Stakes and run through to the Nayef Joel Stakes on 28 September.
